Covering the neighbouring countries of Lithuania and Poland, this tour provides opportunity to visit three unique birding areas:
TOUR FOCUS: Birds & Mammals
TARGET SPECIES: Tengmalm’s Owl, Pygmy Owl, Capercaillie, Black Grouse, Hazel Grouse, Three-toed Woodpecker, White-backed Woodpecker, Middle Spotted Woodpecker, Grey-headed Woodpecker, Black Woodpecker, Bluethroat, Greater Spotted Eagle, White-tailed Eagle, Goshawk, Black Stork, Common Crane, Great Grey Shrike, Nutcracker.
Potential mammal species: European Bison, Moose, Red Deer, Badger, Mountain Hare, outside chance of Wolf and Lynx (tracks should be seen).

Dzūkija National Park
A vast area in southern Lithuania with extensive forests, numerous lakes, natural meadows and various types of bogs, home to Capercaillie and other grouses, as well as several woodpecker and owl species. We will also have the opportunity to see translocated European Bisons, a free-living herd resident in the area.

Biebrza National Park
Straddling the Biebrza River, one of the great natural riverine ecosystems of Europe. One of the most important birding area in Eastern Europe, the rich marshlands are home to such species as Aquatic Warblers, Great Snipes and many other breeding species, as well as massive concentrations of migratory waterfowl, waders and marsh terns during the peak of spring migration.

Bialowieza Forest
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this pristine primeval forest is home to more than 50 mammal species, including European Bison and Moose. It is also a renowned area for birds, over 200 species of which have been recorded, including 10 species of woodpeckers and 8 species of owls, as well as passerines such as Nutcrackers and both Collared and Red-breasted Flycatchers.
